A Mechano-Chemical Computational Model of Deep Vein Thrombosis

چکیده

Computational models of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) typically account for either the mechanical or biochemical factors involved in thrombus formation. Developing a model that accounts both will improve our understanding coagulation process this particular disease. The work presented study details development CFD considers reactions between thrombin and fibrinogen, pulsatile blood flow, clot growth within three-dimensional patient-specific common femoral vein. Thrombin is released into bloodstream from an injury zone on wall Michaelis–Menten equation used to represent conversion fibrinogen fibrin, final product process. starts with two-dimensional idealized geometry. At stage, conduct parametric determine effects varying parameters such as inlet velocity, diameter, peak concentration size shape formed. Peak key factor driving initiation propagation clots To demonstrate potential use model, then extended image-derived Realistic was achieved using compared formed vivo . volume patient about 4% smaller than simulation. This demonstrates further refinement, could be interventional planning. provides means predicting formation under different physiological conditions non-invasive manner.

Risk Factors of Deep Vein Thrombosis in Cancer Patients

Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a significant complication in cancer patients which was found in 4-20% of the patients. This study was aimed to evaluate risk factors of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in cancer patients in an oncology center in Indonesia.  Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study. Data were obtained from medical records of adult cancer patients with DVT referring ...

Deep vein thrombosis as the first presentation of diabetic ketoacidosis

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) as a manifestation of vein thromboembolism is a frequent and potentially life-threatening disease especially in hospitalized and immobile patients. Diabetes mellitus and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) are of its reported, challenging risk factors. Here, we reported a diabetic patient presented with DKA and DVT who showed hypothyroidism-induced warfarin resistance

Deep vein thrombosis after arthroplasty: Nanjing deep vein thrombosis study

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) remains a life-threatening complication of arthroplasty, despite the development of preventive measures. DVT is caused by both acquired and genetic risk factors. The identification of persons at high risk of DVT clearly aids prevention of the same. Age, sex, pregnancy, hormone therapy, an increase in body-mass index (BMI), history of thromboembolism, and surgery are r...
